Koppany Pines is located in the Koppányvölgy Natúrpark a area left underdeveloped to encourage wildlife and fauna to develop naturally and nature has flourished.  Sit quietly and you have an almost 100 % chance to observe wild animals such as red deer, roe deer and fox. Some other interesting, rare animals that are readily seen are bee-eater, golden oriole, white-tailed eagle, raven, yellow-bellied toad, European pond turtle, stag beetle, alpine longhorn beetle, common glow-worm, praying mantis.  Each morning you will wake to a chorus of bird song before deciding how to fill your day.

Hungary is a country full of contradictions with the prospering cities to the less affluent and proud farmers that live off the land.  This brings with it a varied cultural history which is begging to be discovered.  Add this to the stunning countryside, europe’s largest freshwater lake and you are never short of ideas for days out.

Rustic camping, but of extraordinary conviviality, bosses of extreme kindness.  I recommend and hope to return to it when we return from Romania.

Lovingly maintained little campsite amid wonderful nature. Great for kids, play options and pool available. Super nice operators… we’ll be happy to come back!

The campsite has new owners- a wonderful couple: Debs and Mark. They are one of the most helpful and friendliest people I have ever met. For me, reception is of utmost importance wherever I go- and here, it was perfect!

I recommend this campsite to families, couples, groups or solo travellers- anyone who wants some peace and quiet (not counting being woken up by birds of course).
Added benefit: there is practically no light pollution (or any kind of pollution) here so be prepared to get the starriest sky you have ever seen!
