Hosted by Hungarian Country Camping, Koppany Pines is an idyllic spot in the protected Koppany Valley Nature Park where you can immerse in nature, relax and unwind. In the warmer months the pool which overlooks the valley, offers a delightful respite to the heat of the sun.  Located on the doorstep of the Koppany Valley trails you can spend hours exploring the vineyards with nestled wine press houses and rolling countryside that stretches for miles.  Watch the birds and butterflies as they dance around your pitch, pick fruit from the trees for breakfast and fish or picnic at a nearby private lake.  At night take advantage of the unpolluted dark skies and camp telescope for some stargazing, before settling down and getting cosy round the fire.

KOPPANY VALLEY NATURE PARK is a protected area which has been left underdeveloped to encourage wildlife and fauna to develop naturally and nature has flourished.  Since taking ownership of the campsite we are working towards at an eco-friendly campsite that sits comfortably in its environment. All this gives you the opportunity to sit at your pitch and be at one with nature – be warned this includes butterflies, moths, bugs and insects!  Each morning you will wake to a chorus of bird song before deciding how to fill your day.

Being campervanners ourselves, our vision was simple: happy people, great times and a good camp fire,  A dose of healthy outdoor goodness in harmony with nature at prices everyone can afford.

Debs & Mark, Your Hosts

…is a taste of ‘REAL HUNGARY’ with a chance to see wine press houses amongst the vineyards, the local apiary, houses hung with paprika and the passing horse and carts, Koppanyszanto almost feels like it’s part of a bygone age.  Take a walk to the local shop or visit the kocsma (pub)/pizzeria and share a drink with the locals who have accepted us with such hospitality.  There’s a playground, football field and stream for wearing out the kids or having a picnic.   The bus will take you to nearby Tamasi to wander round the Deer Park, take one of the walks, explore the town or take a visit to Thermal Spa.  Locally, we have fishing by appointment at a private lake with two more lakes at Androcs and Kocsola within driving distance, fishing licence required.  Within cycling distance is the national bird reserve of Pacsmags Lakes.

Sight Seeing

Hungary is a country full of contradictions with the prospering cities to the less affluent and proud farmers that live off the land.  This brings with it a varied cultural history which is begging to be discovered.  Add this to the stunning countryside, europe’s largest freshwater lake and you are never short of ideas for days out.

Creating Memories

Cycling, fishing, wine-tasting, birdwatching, stargazing, off-roading, hiking, quading, horse-riding, boules, cooking, picnics…. shall we go on?   The best way if to come and see for yourself!

Guest Reviews

Rustic camping, but of extraordinary conviviality, bosses of extreme kindness.  I recommend and hope to return to it when we return from Romania.

Lovingly maintained little campsite amid wonderful nature. Great for kids, play options and pool available. Super nice operators… we’ll be happy to come back!

The campsite has new owners- a wonderful couple: Debs and Mark. They are one of the most helpful and friendliest people I have ever met. For me, reception is of utmost importance wherever I go- and here, it was perfect!

I recommend this campsite to families, couples, groups or solo travellers- anyone who wants some peace and quiet (not counting being woken up by birds of course).
Added benefit: there is practically no light pollution (or any kind of pollution) here so be prepared to get the starriest sky you have ever seen!
