welcome you to

Koppany Pines Nature Village

Located On the Koppany Valley Walking Trails

Nature, Freedom, Escape

Welcome to Koppany Pines Nature Village – as we said we are not just a campsite!

Obviously, if you just want a campsite then pitch up and do you own thing, but for those wishing a more engaging experience we offer that to!  Our nature retreats not only offer you a space to unwind and reconnect in nature, but also to learn a little along the way.

Our location is in the Koppányvölgy Natúrpark which has been left underdeveloped to encourage wildlife and fauna to develop naturally and nature has flourished.  Go wild and surround yourself with insects, birds and wildlife, observe animals such as red deer, roe deer and fox.  Other animals that are readily seen are bee-eater, white-tailed eagle, raven, yellow-bellied toad, European pond turtle, stag beetle, alpine longhorn beetle, common glow-worm, praying mantis.  Each morning we wake to a bird chorus, the diverse array of insect life encouraging birds including Orioles and Skylarks.

Koppany Pines is a handcrafted nature site providing an idyllic location to recharge those batteries.  We have our own onsite grape vine, a small orchard, vegetable & herb gardens, fruit plots and our wild meadow as we work in tune with our natural environment towards sustainability.  Our  Garden Kitchen eatery has homegrown offerings and products sourced from local producers to support the local economy.

You will also notice our passion for upcycling and recycling all around the site.   In line with this ethos we invite our guests to conserving water and recycling as much as possible whilst on site.

In 2020 we saw an advert on facebook for a guesthouse and campsite in rural Hungary located in the Koppany Valley Nature Park.   It took one visit for us to take a leap of faith and start our next life adventure.   It has been a tough journey, but full of experiences and learning.  We’ve had to face our fears, face ourselves and find mental strength to make sure we enjoy as well as tackle the challenges head on.  We have adapted, broken habits, retrained and found strengths in each other we didn’t know existed.  The reconnection with nature has been a key element to our day to day survival and as we go into season four we are going to continue to build on this and share our experience with others and we couldn’t have a better location.

We look forward to sharing our new life with you!

We are placed on one of the walking trails of the Koppany Valley in  KOPPANYSZANTO a village of just 400 people, surrounded by vineyards, forest and wildlife.  It’s one of five villages in the Koppany Valley which have been given a special status in light of the plant and wildlife.   We have use of a private lake 15 minutes walk from the site for meditation, fishing, picnics and mindfulness activities.

♣ 35 minutes from Balaton Lake by car

What an extraordinary & cosy place! I was lucky to begin my birthday celebration here. Grateful for such an attitude. A world would be a better place if there were more hosts like Mark & Debs. Totally recommend ❤️

Fantastic weekend here with my 5yr old. Getting back to nature, walking through the woods seeing all the wildlife. The owners made us feel very welcome, and the evening around the campfire was really enjoyable. We will be back

A little idyll. Just loved my stay here as part of a group booking. It worked very well for us. The campsite is small, dog friendly and full of rustic charm and character.

There is a lovely communal area where we gathered in the shade during the day and in the evenings. You could drink from the bar here, have daily breakfasts (choices too) or eat with the hosts in the evening. I did this once and Debbie catered for my vegan diet; it was lovely. We also had a Hungarian night with authentic goulash (including a vegan one which was superb), cooked over the fire pit. Packed lunches are available on request too.

The hosts, Debbie and Mark, are a lovely, welcoming and approachable couple – it was easy to forget they were hosts such was their personable touch!

Toilets and showers were good and a very clean pool was just the thing after a walk on a hot day.

We sampled the nearby spa (such good value) and went paddle boarding/kayaking on a dog friendly beach at Lake Balaton. A fabulous experience. Several of the group went to Budapest and raved about it.

I’m not one for commercial sites and Koppany Pines ticked all the boxes for me …and more. I will be returning soon !
